The training offers students an increased sense of importance with the OODA Loop thought process, and how it pertains to the success of deadly force encounters. This is a high tempo, timing, and rhythm firearms course that requires attention to detail.

Description: Programs are designed to teach combative skills in a gear and weapons based environment with a shooter's mindset. The material in the course teaches operators high level, yet basic and easy to learn concepts, principles, theory and techniques. The course starts from the ground zero, building the operator in a step by step process, then as new or enhanced skills are developed operators are put in scenarios to test application of new material in dynamic environments. These environments are based on common scenarios that catch operators off guard. While most combatives programs are more sports related due to the popularity of mixed martial arts, our program is more reality based and built upon operators needs and environments.

This course is designed to address the vascular neck restraint as it pertains to law enforcement.  During this one-day course, students will receive a historical perspective of the technique, the legal issues that impact its use, and instruction on how to properly apply it.  Benefits and risks of utilizing the technique will also be addressed.   Emphasis will be placed on safety and the body's physical response to the application of this type of restraint. 

Training Outcomes

As a result of this training, officers will gain the ability to properly apply a vascular neck restraint for the safety of the aggressor, and the safety of both fellow officers and others present.

Course Description:

This course is designed to take students with or without prior control tactics skills and teach them moves that are directly related to Law Enforcement, including striking defense and weapons retention. Along with learning the finer details of the techniques, students will learn to teach them back to their department.

Course Equipment:

• ·Tops: T-Shirt (Long Sleeve recommended) or sweats. No GI Top!

• ·Bottoms: Long loose-fitting athletic pants, kimono pants or tactical pants.

• ·Feet: Barefoot recommended or wrestling shoes– no footwear (Please clip fingers and toes).

• Duty belt/web gear, applicable holster, body armor, as well as an appropriate training handgun. (Helmet is not part of training but may be used with permission from instructor.)

• Option: Groin & mouth protection.

• Students will need to bring snacks and water every day. Short breaks and an hour and a half lunch will be given, but it is recommended to pack various snacks since activity and engagement in this class will be taxing/demanding.
