Designated Marksman: Improvised Shooting Positions for Law Enforcement

The law enforcement marksman will rarely ever reach the textbook prone position while providing overwatch or security due to terrain and limited choices of potential hide sites. This course focuses on the law enforcement sniper as well as the uniformed officer with a magnified variable optic on his/her patrol rifle. We will explore alternate positions across multiple operational domains and the principles behind building the most stable shooting possible.

Course Outline:

A) Alternate Shooting Positions

       1) Tripod

       2) Bags

       3) Barricades

       4) Modified Prone

B) Vehicle Hides

C) Hasty Deployments for High Risk Warrant Service

D) Overwatch for Public Venue

E) Gear Selection and Placement

Round count for course:  200 rounds of .308 or .223/.556

Open to:  Full time sworn Law Enforcement officer- Patrol – SWAT – Jail – Courts – Admin

This is a physical class, please come prepared to sweat & work.
