Class Description

Applied Pistol teaches, develops, and hones the necessary skills to keep your pistol running, as well as continues to build and refine the marksmanship fundamentals necessary for accurate and repeatable on-demand performance.

 

Curriculum

  • Isolation of marksmanship fundamentals

  • Pistol manipulations

  • Carry & ready positions

  • Drawing from & returning to the holster

  • Reloading

  • Assessing & clearing common pistol malfunctions

  • Dominant & support side shooting

Required

  • Common sense, a good attitude & an open mind

  • Pistol (semi-automatic & magazine-fed)

  • 350 rounds of range ammunition specific to your pistol (minimum & no defense rounds)

  • 3 magazines (minimum)

  • Duty / EDC / gun belt

  • Holster

  • 1 pistol magazine pouch (minimum)

  • Eye Protection (clear lenses)

  • Hearing Protection (electronic recommended)

  • Basic firearms maintenance & cleaning kit

  • IFAK (individual first aid kit)

  • Appropriate clothing & footwear

  • Sharpie

  • Food & water

Recommended

  • Folding chair

  • Sunblock

  • Bug spray

  • Notepad

  • Extra batteries for optics & hearing protection

  • Sunglasses

  • Baseball hat

Restricted

  • Holsters with trigger finger deactivated retention devices (Serpa or other)

  • Leather & other flexible material holsters

Open to:  Full time sworn Law Enforcement officer- Patrol – SWAT – Jail – Courts – Admin

This is a physical class, please come prepared to sweat & work.
