Tactical Operations in a Task Force Environment

Supervisory Special Agent (SSA) Mike Brunswick is a 29-year veteran of the FBI who has served in Toledo Ohio, Cleveland Ohio, Sydney Australia and is currently the Regional OCDETF Coordinator in the Southeast Region. SSA Brunswick has served as a Drug/Gang Task Force Commander, FBI Cleveland SWAT Coordinator and is a tactical, firearms and ALERRT instructor. His current duties include assisting federal, state and local agents/officers to obtain resources in drug/gang investigations and providing investigative and tactical training for task force personnel.

Class description

The course focuses on the importance of the tactical officer’s role in the planning/execution of operations conducted by task forces, particularly those in and around vehicles. The expertise/ experience possessed by tactical officers is particularly vital in preparing task force personnel for critical incidents that may arise in these operations. The course will cover how federal task forces operate, the need for tactical training for task force members, tactical team assistance to federal agencies in investigative-driven operations (e.g. search warrants, arrests, critical incidents, large scale takedowns, etc.) and real-world case studies.
