Cacey O'Farril and Richard Black are the founders of the Alabama Public Safety Drone Association, bringing their extensive experience in law enforcement and tactical operations to the organization. Dedicated to promoting the effective use of drones in public safety, they provide training and education to law enforcement agencies across Alabama. Their expertise encompasses drone regulations, flight planning, data collection, and tactical applications, equipping officers with the knowledge and skills necessary for safe and effective drone integration.

Class description

Tactical Applications for Drones in L.E. is an introductory course designed to equip law enforcement professionals with the foundational knowledge and skills necessary for the effective tactical applications of drones in both interior and exterior environments. The course will provide an overview of drone technology, including equipment selection, safety protocols, and basic flight techniques tailored to law enforcement operations. Participants will gain hands-on experience with drone technology, including flight simulations and practical exercises, to develop a solid understanding of drone capabilities and their potential applications in law enforcement.

Class requirements

If participants possess their own drone equipment, they are welcome to bring it to class. This will allow for hands-on experience with familiar technology and provide an opportunity to tailor the training to specific equipment needs.
