Defensive Tactics for LEO’s

Class Description

This comprehensive 8-hour Entry Defensive Tactics course will allow the student to gain the skills and knowledge required to effectively manage non-compliant or resisting suspects.

This course focuses on teaching various techniques and principles to safely and securely deal with suspects to gain control and make successful arrests during building entry operations. Officers will also receive specialized instruction in weapon retention and defensive knife techniques that will include demonstrations and student participation.

Class Requirements

• Note taking material

• Hydration/snacks

• Towel

• Duty belt/SWAT belt with NO LIVE ORDNANCE – no mags, no chemicals, no Taser, no baton

• Blue gun if available – if not pistols will be safety checked and corded

• Entry weapon if assigned – no live ammo, no mags – entry weapon will be safety checked and corded.

• Gloves - patrol or tactical
